About KCKBA

• We are an association of Southern Baptist Churches and missions that was organized in 1953.
• We are congregations representing seven different ethnic groups worshipping in as many different languages forming congregations in urban, suburban, small town, and rural areas.
• We are a group of over 50 Southern Baptist Churches ministering in Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami, and Wyandotte Counties in north eastern Kansas.
• We are congregations who assemble to worship in church buildings, schools, stores, theatres and homes. 

The Kansas City Kansas Baptist Association will accept its responsibility as a strategic missionary unit in Southern Baptist life by serving its churches as:

• A vehicle for doing cooperative missions in our associational area and, through the CityFocus Missions Enterprise, throughout greater Kansas City;
• A window on the world, enabling volunteers from the churches to do missions both nationally and internationally; 
• A catalytic agent for strategically multiplying the number of outlets in our area for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ; and
• A facilitator and trainer of the churches’ leaders in the development of strong churches. 

• Church Growth and Development: By providing consultations, technical education, training and resources to help churches develop strategies for growth.
• Church and Community Ministries: By motivatng, assisting, training and resourcing congregations to reach people for Christ by ministering to human/social needs.
• Church Planting: By reaching people for Christ through new church starts, and the development and growth of healthy, vibrant congregations. 
• Church Outreach and Evangelism: By promoting and encouraging evangelistic outreach to the community through the individual churches and with groups of churches in mass meetings.

• Providing Ministry to the Community through local church food and clothing crisis programs
• Providing financial counseling and assistance to our churches seeking to purchase realestate and build buildings in the Kansas City area and its surrounding suburbs
• Giving leadership to pastorless churches searching for qualified pastors
• Representing the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists and the Southern Baptist Convention to the Kansas City area
• Caring for the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of all people through Southern Baptist Ministries located at 2548 South 42nd Street in Kansas City, Kansas.

• By praying for the Association of Churches and for the staff that leads this Association.
• By volunteering, as God leads you, to help in one of the association ministries or beginning a ministry in your church.
• By taking every opportunity to educate your church about the ministries and needs of this association as well as the resources and missions opportunities available to your church through the KCKBA office.
• By encouraging your church to financially support the association through a percentage of your annual church budget and through special missions offerings.
